Shop Rates
Shop rates, a helpful overview of my price structure
All custom projects are billed out at my hourly shop rate of $75 an hour. Materials are billed at my cost In most cases a rough price estimate is given along with the design and project proposal. I am happy to meet with you to discuss your project and if we decide to move forward a nonrefundable deposit of $400 is required to start the design and proposal process. This goes toward the deposit needed to start the project.
Billing time and materials is a good way to move cabinet, furniture and boat projects along. It allows me to focus on the work and to spend my time in the shop not at my desk, It's also a better value for the customer as I don't have to build a margin into my estimates to make sure I can cover my overhead and make a living.
Shop classes not held in my shop are are billed through the venue.
When teaching in my shop, or leading custom on site classes I bill by the day or class.
On water kayak instruction and guided trips are billed out based on the goals of the client.
